Are Lab Grown Diamonds Real Diamonds?
Yes, lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. They have the same chemical composition (pure carbon), crystal structure and physical properties as natural diamonds mined from the earth.
The key difference is natural diamonds are made in the Earth over millions of years where lab grown as the name suggests is made in a lab. There’s also the environmental impact. Because lab grown stones are made in a lab, there’s far less carbon going into the atmosphere.
Do they sparkle the same?
Yes, lab grown diamonds are chemically identical to natural diamonds, so they sparkle exactly the same way. Same brilliance, same shine.
How can I tell the difference?
You can't with the naked eye. Even jewellers need specialised equipment to detect tiny differences in crystal growth patterns or trace elements.
Certification of Authenticity
Every diamond earing regardless of lab grown or natural, comes with a certificate of authenticity. You will receive a Shining Diamond Certificate for free with your diamond earrings.
You can also choose from other bodies such as: GIA, IGI and WGI. Which come at an extra cost.
