Wedding and Engagement Rings Trends For 2019

Wedding and Engagement Rings Trends For 2019
/

2018 has been an incredible year for both wedding and engagements! Not only did it see us through the fairytale wedding that was Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, but it was also another year of more lustful celebrity engagement rings! From Princess Eugenie’s to Lady GaGa, it was certainly a year of desirable diamonds! But what about 2019? What will next year bring us in the world of wonder? Here at Shining Diamonds, we take a look at next years predicted wedding and engagement trends, from colours to cuts, we’ve got it covered!

Coloured Stones

In 2018,  18-38383 Ultra Violet was classed as the Pantone colour of the year, with pop icons such as Prince, David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix believe to be behind the introduction of the shade into western pop culture. But what about 2019? The upcoming year is set to see an array of coloured gemstones, particularly considering how popular the emerged trend was amongst celebrities this year. Lady GaGa became the proud owner of a stunning pink sapphire engagement ring with a diamond halo and she wasn’t the only one; Princess Eugine also announced her engagement earlier at the start of the year sporting an equally as beautiful pink sapphire.

More recently, Pantone announced that it’s colour of the year for the upcoming year is Pantone 16-1546 Living Coral. This beautiful hue is set to have a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens along with a pronounced softer edge, meaning it has some exciting potential in the world of diamond engagement rings!

Pear Cut Engagement Rings

When it comes to Diamond cuts, the pear cut engagement ring has seen a boost in popularity over the past few months which is predicted to continue as we move into 2019. The vintage-inspired design has been brought back into the modern day, with its unique shape and twist on the classic solitaire diamond ring.

One of the main reasons for the reemergence of the classical style could be due to the engagement between Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. Grande was seen sporting a huge $94,000 pear-shaped diamond after the announcement, with a supporting silver band of encrusted with diamonds. Given Grande’s massive following, it was no surprise that this became a trending design. Luckily, here at Shining Diamonds, our beautiful shoulder set single halo pear cut diamond ring is the perfect alternative.

Halo Style Engagement Rings

As well as their love for coloured gemstones, Lady GaGa and Princess Eugine were also the two proud owners of two beautifully stunning halo engagement rings. This particular style is a rendition of an old time classic. Elegant yet sophisticated, halo designs are perfect for those looking to add a little extra sparkle to their lives.

Halo engagement rings usually feature a singular central stone that is surrounded by equally as beautiful smaller diamonds. This style is a classic that will forever be a part of our best-loved engagement and wedding ring styles, therefore, it comes as no surprise that this is a well-predicted trend for the upcoming year.

As 2019 draws close, it can be hard to predict what else lies ahead but what is for sure is that diamonds last forever. Here, at Shining Diamonds, we believe that there is nothing better than a beautiful timeless ring so keep an eye out for any other desirable trends that will emerge in the new year.
